Having worked for several large organizations as a tech contributor and a keen open source and Linux enthusiast, have always found Google closer than Microsoft. AWS is perhaps second closest after Google. While I have worked on AWS extensively, got very limited opportunity to work on Google Cloud Platform.
So decided to take the plunge and decided to start so fresh - that I literally signed up for a new Google account, hardened the Google account, dedicated a old phone for logging in and added that account as family account so that I could share YouTube Premium :).
I will be using a Google Chromebook for everything I am going to be doing here. After having used feature rich tools I am really intrigued by basic default tools available Google Chromebook. These are really basic, yet functional. Don't know how much they scalable for a large production environment and I guess they are not - but maybe adding Reminna on Chromebook could solve ssh needs.
With that out of the way, I signed up for Google Cloud Platform, added various details and smilingly accepted the US $ 300 (~ INR 25,000) worth of credits to start exploring Google Cloud Platform.
And oh boy!! Was I impressed... Yes I was - It was the slickest and by far the easiest console to work with as compared to AWS. I decided I am going to do the right things and follow best practices in setting up the cloud environment. I followed Google's documentation and watched some really interesting & well made YouTube videos.
This is my journey of on boarding and learning Google Cloud Platform. Follow if you like and comment if you have suggestions.
Cheers.

Will be following up on this thread. Not many DIY docs or videos on how to get started with GCP.
